Hello! Welcome to my e-portfolio!
Here is a little bit about myself
My name is Shirley Lin and I'm currently enrolled in the Stony Brook Southampton Occupational Therapy Master's program, class of 2018.
I also earned my undergraduate bachelor's degree at Stony Brook University with the graduating class of 2013. I majored in Health Science with a concentration in Disability Studies and Human development, with intensions to further my education in an occupational therapy masters program.
Post-graduation, I dedicated a year and a half to completeing my pre-requisite courses at local colleges and exploring multple OT settings to expland my knowledge on the practice. Some of these settings include hand rehabilitation, pediatrics, outpatient services, and adult/geriatric psychiatry.
What facinates me about OT is its holistic, client-centered, and evidence-based practice approach on improving one's quality of life. I will continue to explore the role of occupational therapy in various age-specific and disability-specific settings as I embark on fieldwork oppurtunities in my graduate cirriculum.
"My ultimate goal in life is to make an impact on my family, an impact on my friends, an impact on a stranger, and an impact on the world. Human interaction is a beautiful thing and in every second of every minute I am affecting you and you are affecting me."

Hi Shirley,
I think your ePortfolio is fantastic! You show your leadership and work experience and connected music to it. Your colors and pictures are also great. I write music as well and have been playing guitar for 15 years now and I know how frustrating it can be. Patience is definitely an art. Please continue to update your ePortfolio with any coursework or activities you find important to your career.
If you could fill out a quick survey about ePortfolios, that would be really helpful to the ePortfolio department.

BRILLIANT! STELLAR! Shirley, I'm not sure what course required you to start an eportfolio. This looks independent and it give evidence to your creative thinking abilities and leadership skills. Keep this up. Your use of reflection in your co curricular and community involvements is right on! You're showing evidence of your ability to analyze and connect your learning experiences. Put some of your course work up there with your evidenced-based reflection. Connect the learning in the classroom with your other activities. Go for the MAX, Shirley. You have set the bar of excellence for other Stony Brook students to follow.
You are an example of why I'm so proud to work at Stony Brook. I've tagged you as a Model eportfolio and will feature you in our Galaxy of ePortfolio Stars.
Good job!
