ISE 391: Special Topics in Information Systems. Lecture or seminar course on a current topic in information systems. Semester supplements to this Bulletin contain specific description when course is offered. May be repeated as the topic changes, but cannot be used more than twice to satisfy ISE major requirements.
Marine Animal Mobile Alert "Our objective is to create a mobile rescue app dedicated to report stranded marine animals. The application will feature a camera where people can take pictures of the animal to identify the species and report the location to the appropriate authorities utilizing the gps feature."
Healthy By Nature "Benevolent Computing applies digital practices to benefitting society. Our team hopes to service those who can't afford or don't have access to prescription remedies/drugs. With the concept of Benevolent Computing we are dedicating a database application so the public can look for remedies for any health problems they are concerned with."
Stony Brook Shares "Stony Brook Shares is an idea stock market in which users may submit ideas for them to be bided on much like an actual stock market. The ideas with the highest value are then passed on to Stony Brook University administration for their consideration." Only viewable within the Stony Brook Community.
Mobile Voter "Our project is to create a Mobile Voter app for college students. It will give them the information they need to vote along with who is up for election. This is a Benevolent Computing project because if student voters have easy access to the information they need to vote, the more students will vote. This will benefit society by encouraging students to become life-long participates in our democracy."
Beneventures "The goal of the Beneventures app is to assist students working in the student outreach program to become familiar with the area they will be helping."
