I was born and raised in various small towns in western New York and am lucky enough to have been raised by two small, loving families. Most of my childhood, I wanted to be an explorer, so logically when I was older I wanted to become a scientist. My biggest trouble throughout high school was deciding what science to study professionally. I thoroughly enjoyed all of my science courses so much, and deciding between physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, or medicine for my future seemed imposable

Currently, I am going into my third year of school and will be going into my fourth semester of independent research. Outside of class and the lab, I have been vice president of the Stony Brook freethinkers and will be secretary in the fall. In addition, I am a chaser on Stony Brook’s Quidditch team (yes, I am serious), and have built two boats on the University Scholar’s team out of duct tape and card board for Stony Brook’s Roth Pond Regatta.
