Dear Reader,
In my portfolio you will see more than fifteen pages of thoroughly revised papers consisting of countless man hours. I have come far from where I was in the ways of essay writing. Writing 102 has shown me how to properly add quotes to a paper, properly format my writing and give credit where it is due by showing me the correct way to formally cite my work. Before this I was almost clueless. I realized how much help I needed in my writing after taking a 200 level course last semester. The professor requested essays that were at a college level writing. Coming straight out of high school I hadn't the slightest idea what a formal college essay should consist of, so I naturally had many questions. My professor gave me a strange look figuring I should know this already, but she did not know this was my first semester ever in college. After my second semester in my writing 102 class I feel I could confidently go back into that class and easily right a paper worthy of a A just from the great tip and resources I picked up from my 102 class. I saw how by adding quotes from credible authors makes your paper more convincing and gives you a better argument. A work cited page not only gives credit to other authors and sources, but also shows that there is significant evidence backing your claims. Writing is definitely not my strongest subject, but I understand its importance in the delivering and sharing information across the world expanding knowledge everywhere.
