My name is Alicia M. Elliott. Currently, I am a first year PhD student in Nuclear Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

I graduated in May 2015 from Stony Brook University with a B.E. in Engineering Science and a specialization in Materials Science and Engineering. I am pursuing a research career in materials science and engineering, with a particular interest in renewable and clean energy applications.

I have conducted research in the Materials Science & Engineering department, and during the summer of 2014, I spent 10 weeks conducting research at Cornell University in the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Cornell Nanoscale Science & Technology Facility (CNF), funded by the National Science Foundation through the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network (NNIN REU).

I was also one of the original 6 mentors to pilot a new mentoring program for the College of Engineering and Applies Sciences, and I have been a teaching assistant for Physical Geography Lab (SBC 114), Engineering Design 1 (ESG 217), and Engineering Lab (ESG 312).

I sailed for the Stony Brook University Sailing team, and I was the treasurer of the team for the 2013-2014 academic year.

In my free time, I enjoy running, hiking, traveling, and creating art.

I am currently in the process of updating my portfolio and my personal website, which can be found here. Please contact me if you have any questions.
