Hello, my name is Alison Fox and welcome to my professional e-Portfolio!

Currently I am attending Stony Brook University and am in my junior year. I am a Chemistry, B.S. major with a focus in Biological Chemistry. In addition I am a Leadership and Development minor.

Through my experiences and overall growth and development as both a college student and a leader, I have been drawn to helping better the campus community and in turn, better the neighboring communities. Through my drive for academic excellence and yearn for philanthropic endeavors, I have become an active member in Theta Phi Alpha national fraternity. Along with organizations like the American Red Cross, Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, Hurricane Sandy Relief efforts, and the American Cancer Society, we actively support the causes that greatly effect our area, and they mean more to me because they are causes I truly care about and advocate for. For a more detailed list of community service projects I have participated in, please refer to my resume tab.

Outside of participating on campus and through many different mediums for community service, I have an innate passion for helping others. I have been accepted to the VA Corps Internship Program in Cape Town, South Africa for June of 2015, where I will help run an HIV/AIDs clinic and help educate those in need. After which, I hope to join the Peace Corp. or get my masters in Public Health as just another means driving me to help better the conditions of others. My ultimate life goal is to be an anaesthesiologist and transform the patient experience in hospitals by pioneering a movement in which doctors have more compassionate bedside manner.
