As an undergraduate intern at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), I worked alongside Researcher Deborah Keszenman in the NASA Space Radiation Laboratory Biology department to investigate clustered DNA damage. At the end of the program I was invited to present my findings to distinguished BNL and departmental guests.

I also presented my research at the 2011 19th Annual Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) Conference in Lake George, NY. My presentation was judged with fifteen other participants and I was awarded the Special Distinction Award in Natural Sciences for Student Oral Presentation.
