During my undergraduate and graduate careers, I participated in research outside of the classroom in both biological- and materials-based areas. During the summer between my sophomore and junior years, I worked in a biomaterials/cancer biology lab; the following spring, I began work in a neurobiology lab; finally, during my Masters work, I am doing research in a lab focused on the properties of metallic glasses, as well as development and characterization of components for design of nuclear fusion reactors.
