Technology

               I believe technology is a wonderful thing and has helped our world in several ways. Technology has been around since the beginning of time and its effect on the world is very important. It is amazing to see how new technologies have come about in history and see where we are with technology today. For instance, the invention of the abacus way back in the sixteenth century BC was an instrument for recording number values and performing basic arithmetic. Today, we have computers than can process billions of instructions in a second. Technology has advanced so much over the years and in today’s world, the pace at which it is increasing is tremendous.

                I think technology is a vital part of our world today and provides us with hundreds of useful tools to help us with whatever problems we may have. Pretty much anywhere someone can look; they will find some sort of technology. I don’t think we should stop pushing for great advancements in technology because technology is what runs the world. We need to always keep finding better ways to do things. If it were not for people pushing for advances in technology, we would not be living in the world we live in today and be living in a time period that we studied in history.  

About Me

                My name is Anthony Lopez and I grew up and lived my entire life on Long Island in Rocky Point. I commute to Stony Brook University and am currently majoring in Computer Science. I decided this is the major I wanted to pursue because I always loved computers when I was younger and I wanted to learn more about them and be able to learn how to make software for technology. I am learning to program now and I am really enjoying it.

                I would consider myself a pretty active person. I really like to play sports with my friends. I’d play almost any sport but I like football, ultimate frisbee, basketball, and soccer the most. In the past  year, I started going to gym and am trying to get stronger. In high school, I ran cross country and played baseball on the school’s Varsity teams.

                Everything I do in life is important to me. I take my grades very seriously and I work a part time job to keep myself out of any debt from college. After my undergraduate career at Stony Brook, I would like to get my masters. My career goal is to become a Software Engineer.
