1.  How would you describe your project to your friends and colleagues?  How would you describe it to a future employer?

The robotic guide was by far the most technical and hands on engineering experience I have ever had. This project also required a high level of group collaboration to finish such a large amount of work in only 2 semesters.

2.  What specific skills and knowledge did you learn from senior biodesign?

Other than the technical skills of programming and building a device, I learned alot about the start to end development of a product. We turned ideas into alternative models into a working final design.

3.  How can you apply what you discovered and learned to other areas of your life?

I have learned how to make an idea into a tangible reality. Any goal can be broken up into short term goals and with enough thought and planning, can come together before your eyes. I learned it is important to weigh your options and make decisions based on what you can manage, and to always have another path to take if things get messy.

4.  What was your favorite aspect of your project?

I really liked the amount of creativity and freedom we were able to have with our design. We could approach each aspect of the robotic guide from many different angles. For the navigation for example, we could have used RFID tags, line tracking, the compass, color tags..ect.

5.  What problems or challenges did you encounter?  Did the challenges cause you to discover something new about your field of study?

At first the assignment was overwhelming and we did not know where to begin. We also encountered many problems during the development different features of the robotic guide. This project made me understand that things can always go wrong and you must be prepared to revise your original design ALOT.

6.  What would you do or change about your project if you could start over again?

I would like to pick one of the other alternative designs to focus on and see if that route would work better. Also I would spend more time developing prototypes to really iron out the glitches before the final presentation.

7.  What would you like to learn further about your project if you had the time to continue to work on it?

If i had more time I would like to incorporate RFID tags into our navigation system and possibly move the code to a more professional platform like it was originally intended.
