Red Cross Club

The American Red Cross Club has given me the ability to give back to the community all the time and consideration I have so frequently been given when needed. The Red Cross Club handles numerous blood drives, fund raising events, bake sales, food drives, and calls to help for underpriveleged and out-of-luck families in the event of a disaster. CPR training is also another possibility we are currently working on. The club itself also has allowed me to become a full-fledged American Red Cross Volunteer based out of Long Island as well. I look forward to continuing my work with the Red Cross Club of Stony Brook University.

Robot Design Team

Robot design team at Stony Brook University is an experience unlike any other. It has exposed me to the finer points of engineering with robotics, mainly programming, electrical, and mechanical aspects. Two such competitions we are currently working on are IGVC (or Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition) and Mech Warfare. The first competition requires a robot to travel to GPS waypoints within the restrictions of a predetermined course. Mech Warfare includes the construction of robots which battle it out in a cityscape arena. A third competition in which we've been looking into is Micromouse where an autonomous mouse robot maps out the quickest way to the center.

 BMES

BME Society is a club dedicated to promoting the major of Biomedical Engineering in academia and industry! It's an awesome club! It gives undergraduates the opportunity to talk with those further along in the major, and to receive advice from not only upperclassmen and graduate students, but professors and scientists as well! It's an invaluable resource! Check out their website!

HvZ

HvZ or Humans vs. Zombies is a massive game of tag that takes place on campus 24 hours a day, every day for a week, once a semester. People are designated as either humans or zombies. If a zombie tags a human, he's now a zombie! Humans are allowed to defend themselves from the zombies with nerf guns or socks. I was lucky enough to be a part of this crazy game the first semester, and will continue to participate every semester following as long as I'm registered to go to such a great university!
