It would be unethical to to state to claim false qualifications.  One the application, it would still be wise to note that you are taking classes to meet all qualifications for the job, and you could possible find someone to help you complete the course faster.  This would allow you to be efficient by the deadline for the application.

11.5

It is your responsibility to make everyone aware that the three-wheeled version has safety risks.  Since a vehicle is in use multiple times and always carries passangers, this design puts life in danger.  New designs could be worked on for a safer three-wheel design.

11.6

The consumers should be made aware that new materials are being used.  The customers should be able to renegotiate contracts to get the materials cheaper, since they are different materials.  This honesty will be respected by the customers, and could even lead to more business, since word of mouth is a powerfull thing, and the customers trust your company.

The chapter on value sensitive design adds to the code of ethics. Where the ethics talk about what is morally right, the value sensitive design tells the engineer to look for negative side effects and what could happen. Therefore, by following the value sensitive design, engineers are basically forced to do what is morally right. If they were to ignore VSD, then they would produce a product that is possibly flawed and could harm the public. If the creation of new technology is being debated, the engineers must not only determine if it is ethically sound, but on the impact this could possibly have on society. The code of ethics states that "Engineers should at all times strive to serve the public interest." To determine the public interest, however, they must consider their design and how the public might react, or any effects on the environment.

Under the code of ethics, engineers must “act for each employer or client as faithful agents or trustees.” It’s an engineer’s duty to inform their clients whenever they have new information. For example, if an engineer discovers a method to save money and they know that the client can save money too, it’s the engineer’s duty to tell them. This coincides with VSD because one of its focuses is on justice and human rights.

For senior design, it is important that the design is useful to society. What is the point in making something that no one needs, or doesn't work better than something already in existence? The design also needs to be safe, for both people and the environment (or animals, depending of what the design is for).
