This site has been created by the Stony Brook College of Engineering and Applied Science, in collaboration with the Long Island Alternative Energy Consortium (LIAEC), to help students find meaningful internship and research positions, and provide potential employers with the resources they need to find bright and motivated students.

Internships are a powerful tool for both students and employers. They offer students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the field, bolster their résumés, and develop invaluable contacts in the job market. Employers, meanwhile, benefit by gaining cost-effective labor, full of fresh ideas and diversity, all while developing and maintaining an integral relationship with the university.

Research experience is critical for undergraduates interested in pursuing post-graduate work, as it demonstrates the development of crucial laboratory skills and methods, has the potential for publication, and provides access to excellent letters of recommendation. Employers gain extra hands for the abundance of work that typically needs to be done, granting the grad students and post docs the time they need to focus on the larger issues of their projects.
