How do I protect my content online?

Answer: Add a Creative Commons License Module to your ePortfolio by following these directions

*Note: Never put your phone number or home address on your ePortfolio

A creative commons license specifies the use of your academic and creative work. It addresses the following aspects:

    • Allow others to make modifications of your work
    • Do not allow modifications of your work
    • Allow modifications if the work is shared
    • Allow commercial use of your work
    • Do not allow commercial use of your work

Visit the Creative Commons website to learn more: http://creativecommons.org

Choose a license that is best for you: http://creativecommons.org/choose

If you scroll to the bottom of this page, you can see an example of the license in action:

Here are examples of Creative Commons Licenses found in the Stony Brook Directory:

Charles Magyar and his use of the Creative Commons License.

Nancy Wozniak and her use of the Creative Commons License.

You may put the Creative Common's license as a footer in your eportfolio, but it is more easily visible next to your work.
