These are the skills which I tested highest in on the Strengths Quest. This is a test that asks a series of questions that is targeted at finding out your strengths as a leader. Below are my results and a brief explanation of what that result means with regard to leadership roles.

STRATEGIC

Those people who are strategic are skilled in creating alternative ways to proceed. This means that it is a particularly useful skill for spotting patterns and themes in scenarios. This is a particularly useful strength when things do not pan out as expected. Strategic people are able to see what needs to be done and find a way to work around the challenge to find alternate ways to complete the task. I find this to be an accurate description of myself as I am often able to quickly formulate other ways to complete the same project when complications arise.

IDEATION

Those people who are skilled in ideation are fascinated by ideas. This is a very accurate description of myself as I am eternally thinking and many ideas are always floating about my head at any given time. People who are skilled in ideation are able to establish connections between seemingly disparate phenomena. This is something which I frequently do, much to the confusion of my classmates or group mates, but upon further explanation the bigger picture of the connection becomes evident to them as well.

COMMAND

People who are talented in command have a presence wherever they are. This is a strength that I frequently don’t recognize and often fail to capitalize on in relevant situations. These people can take control of a situation and make decisions very effectively. I feel that this is something I am capable of doing, but am hesitant to put into action. However, if there is a clear lack of direction or no clear leadership I have no problem stepping in to get things back on track.

RESTORATIVE

Those people who are skilled in the restorative quality are adept at dealing with problems. I think this is something which I find myself to have a great strength in. I frequently see problems as opportunities rather than complications. People with this strength are good at addressing the problem within a situation and resolving it. I would like to believe that this is a strong area of mine and I am frequently able to rally a group back after facing a problem or complication.

EMPATHY

People who are skilled in empathy can sense the feelings of other people by imagining themselves in others’ lives or others’ situations. I think this is a very valuable skill and I would like to think that I have a good grip on emotional intelligence. This means perceiving and using other people’s emotions to understand their situation and communicating in away sensitive to this. I feel that this is a very valuable strength for a leader to possess as it enables that leader to have more successful interactions with their followers.
