The most interesting thing that I learned was probabilistic risk assessment (PRA).

In my work as a structural design engineer, I would be able to understand a probabilistic risk assessment formally performed by other specialists in the company. However, I would also be able to perform informal versions during my own work to evaluate potential failure modes to a structural component. In fact, during my previous internship,  I had discussions with my colleagues regarding possible failure modes and their likelihood. I now know that this is called probabilistic risk assessment. In the future, I intend to apply this knowledge.

For my senior design project involving a soccer robot, I will apply probabilistic risk assessment to understand what risk factors are involved and which ones I should prioritize mitigating.
