 Complexity, Disaster, Collapse & Ethics.

This lecture was the most relateable me; as a psychology/sociology student. Engineering and psychology are always considered as polar opposites. The funnel diagram which was shown on slide 44 does a great job of illustrating that we have so many ideas, that later pass through a filter in which we weigh out our options and see whats beneficial, not just for us but for everyone.

Sometimes what we want, is different from the right thing to do .. ethically speaking. 9/10 we do what we know is "the right thing to do" regardless of our personal opinion of it. But that's what makes us humans, we have values, ethics, beliefs, that are unique to our species and nobody can take that away from us. Whether you're an engineer or a crossing guard, we should all keep paramount the welfare of our fellow humans.
