My time at Suffolk County Community College was a very rewarding experience.  I have learned so much in my short time spent there and was fortunate enough to participate in events that have expanded my skills and abilities of leadership. I have become a better student, a better leader, and have become more aware of who I am as an adult.

I was highly involved with an office named Campus Activities and Student Leadership Development. This office was responsible for maintaining the student clubs and organizations, training new students for becoming better leaders through becoming orientation assistants, and organizing annual events that were not only for students but for the public as well.

While working in this office, I was able to help and motivate other students to become more knowledgeable of their campus and to make new friends and discover new interests by joining clubs and organizations.  This helped me expand my public speaking skills greatly by conducting seminars for the college seminar courses. It also helped me define my leadership skills.  I was invited to attend two amazing leadership conferences, the National Conference for Student Leaders, and the ASGA National Conference, as you'll read below.

I am very grateful for the people who work in that office for giving me the opportunity to be able to learn about what it takes to be a great student leader. The video below is about the importance of being involved with your college community that I was formtunate enough to participate in. Enjoy!
