The best way to start my digital story is by showing a few pictures that have impacted my life in some form and shaped the person I am today!

My senior year of high school was bittersweet.  College was just around the corner and a new chapter in my life was about to start.  I planned to make the summer before college the best one yet.  I went on small trips over the couple months that turned out to be the days I remember the most.  Places like Six Flags, The Coney Island Amusement Park, The Fire Island Light House and camping were great bonding moments that I will never forget.  Even if the entire day was spent by the pool and around the campfire, the simple memories are the most meaningful to me.  I knew it was going to be hard saying good-bye to my friends that I have known for so long, but I was also ready to meet new people and begin the next step in life.

Starting college was uncomfortable at first.  Not knowing anyone and living on my own brought more responsibility and a lost feeling.  The independence and thrill of college life was awesome and left me excited to start a new year but leaving the comfort and company of family and old friends made me want to be home at the same time.

Once classes started and the moving anxiety had settled, I became more involved and met so many people.  Trying new things is never easy but I find that the outcome it is often rewarding.  Deciding to play ultimate Frisbee was like learning a different language.  It took a lot of time and practice but I’m finally getting the hang of it.  I was even able to travel with the team to tournaments in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.  Little did I know that these friends would soon become some of my best friends.

The transition from High School to college was not easy but it was definitely worth it.  I look back at all the memories and I realize how fast time went.  To me, the most important lessons learned throughout these experiences were to savor the simple memories, enjoy every second of life, and take nothing for granted.
