Through various courses I have taken on microbiology, viruses play a huge role in human disorders, diseases, illnesses, and alteration of cell function in general despite their tiny size. I find that viruses, to me, are an incredible part of the microorganism world and they have an incredible way of working. I hope to share with you what I have learned about them and maybe even you will be motivated to furthur your studies on them selse where!

General facts about Viruses:

  • They're simpler then cells
  • They cannot reproduce (only in a host cell!)
  • Their genes (nucleic acids) are packaged in protein coats or in some cases membranous envelopes
