Sigma Beta Honor Society

I belong to Sigma Beta Honor Society and have also been invited to join the Golden Key International Honor Society.

Though the Sigma Beta Society I have volunteer to do March of Dine walk to raise monies for children whom are in medical and other special need. I work at the Long Island Veterans Home, a nursing home for the aging war veteran, which is in Stony Brook campus. It is a great Nursing Home, once a year when they have nursing award week, I acknowledge the nurses by letting them know how important they are to our facility and the community. I participate by helping serve them brunch or dinner, make up basket for the Chinese auction and sell raffles. Most of the money from the sale of the raffles goes towards scholarship for student attending nursing school. During the summer I have done work for Habitat for Humanity as a community event to help with the construction of a home for a local family in need, I helped frame the home. It was a very rewarding feeling. I help collect food to feed the hungry and also sent money to St .Francis Breadline, I think is an important charity. Stony Brook University has a Commuter Student Service organization to which I belong and have donated books to send oversea to our soldiers.
