This assignment was helpful because it helped me learn about how secure things are to make the risk smaller. In the example of an elevator, they have engineered it so that if one thing failed, something else was about to keep it from breaking. If one cable failed, there are more to hold it up, and if all the cables failed, there are breaks and shock absorbers to reduce the impact. It was also interesting to learn that depending on the size of the building, there were different kinds of elevators that were preferred. Since I am interested in robots and automation, learning how to prevent certain vulnerabilities is a key idea to understand and recognize.
