Business Level Strategy
Target's business strategy and general focus is very similar to its mission statement, of being the, "preferred shopping destination, by delivering outstanding value, continuous innovation and an exceptional guest experience." Target is constantly coming up with new strategies to make a guest experience in the store amazing. They accomplish this by having team members give guests exceptional service and by having a fast, fun, and friendly attitude. Target markets their company in many ways. They have ads in the paper and online, they advertise through social media and T.V. One of their strategy is to market their logo by sponsorship. They are one of the biggest sponsors of Chip Ganassi Indy Car racing. They also sponsor the Minnesota Twins and the baseball stadium is named after Target. Target also uses apps on smart-phones as a way to market their company by having special promotions and deals on the app. Target attracts guests to their stores by having a pharmacy, Target mobile, and a photo and eyeglass center. Probably one of their greatest strategic plan was to affiliate with Starbucks and having a Starbucks in every store. Many people shop at Target because there is a Starbucks. Target uses their slogon of, "Expect More. Pay Less" to illustrate to guests that they are getting a quality item at a low cost.
