Enterprise Rent-A-Car is an independently owned business of which Andy Taylor is the current CEO. Through the company's open door policy, employees may speak to senior management in informal meetings. Teamwork is valued highly and hierarchy is basically absent. Enterprise locations are regionally and branch-managed to deal with problems specific to those locations.

At regional locations, managers may be democratic or autocratic. A democratic manager listens and works together with his employees, whereas an autocratic manager orders his employees without much leeway. When handling a safety issue, a manager is most likely to make the final decision. However, when determining a less important issue, (take desk movement for example), employees may be able to work together to figure out the best solution. At branch locations, managers run their store as if it was a small independent business in a laissez-faire manner.

All Enterprise Rent-A-Car branches use an Automated Rental Management System, which is an internet database that allows customers to rent vehicles online if they do not prefer to call up Enterprise to speak to a representative. Enterprise developed the Enterprise Service Quality index (ESQi) as a way to measure customer satisfaction. Employees at every branch call up customers every month to see how they're doing and if Enterprise could improve. Regional locations that get great reviews will reward their employees for excellent service, hard work, and teamwork in the Enterprise Newsletter and may gain membership to the Enterprise Elite Club.
