Business Level Strategy:

Enterprise Rent-A-Car's competitive strategy is to provide the best customer service in the car-rental market. They offer a distinct service from their competitors in that they will pick up their customers free of charge and take them to an Enterprise location to rent a car. They competitively placed themselves in local neighborhoods about 15 miles apart from each consecutive office throughout 90% of the U.S. Enterprise Rent-A-Car's marketing strategy is to provide cheap car rentals and easy access to Enterprise locations in neighborhoods through their pick up service. Some costs to note include the price of paying employees, maintaining the Automated Rental Management System, the price of shipping cars, maintaining cars, insurance on cars, the price to operate their telephone system, building maintenance and operation costs, etc. Enterprise started in neighborhoods and eventually spread to airports; however, their main focus is on neighborhood rentals. Airport locations are the focus of Enterprise's main competitor, Hertz. Enterprise rents out cars to people whose cars are being fixed, those who look to take a small vacation, business people, and travelers at airports.
