Microsoft Corporation was founded by Bill Gates in 1975 and became one of the most well-known companies in the world.  It was, and still is today, a crucial component in the success of the computer and technology industry in our society.  It's a computer software giant that develops, licenses, and supports products and services involving everything there is with computing.  It is the world's largest software maker measured by revenue and is one of the most valuable companies in the world.  In 1986, Microsoft had its stock market launch and never looked back.  Currently, Microsoft has over a $200 billion market capitalization which puts it among the largest companies on the stock market.  Once a company goes public, investment and expansion occur and the company can now grow and prosper in a more timely fashion.  The company boomed its way through the 1990s with its Windows operating system along with its several updates and advancements that still kept the Windows title.  Bill Gates was a very persuasive and intelligent businessman who paved a very successful path for Microsoft and its future. 

His deal with its rival, Apple, to license features of Apple's operating system was brilliant because with Microsoft writing the agreement, it was able to include that Microsoft can use all Apple's features for the current Windows operating system and all future operating systems developed by Microsoft.  This deal was 1 of the 3 amazing decisions that Bill Gates made that benefited Microsoft tremendously.  The other two, purchasing QDOS from Seattle Computer Products and being able to convince IBM to allow Microsoft to keep the licensing rights to MS-DOS, were also crucial benefits for Microsoft.  These three deals by Bill Gates laid the foundation of success for Microsoft even though there were strong competitors as the computer scene spread throughout the world.  It allowed Microsoft to become a top competitor in the computer and technology sector which gave them a direct connection to the consumer.

Throughout Microsoft's history as a company, it has focused greatly on its employees feedback and the company's work environment.  A more positive and organized work environment leads to better communication and relationships with co-workers and leads to prosperity as a whole in the future.  Staying on track with advancements within the workplace is crucial in the success of a company because as a society advances in technology as a whole, the companies workplace that are creating these advancements must stay updated or efficiency and effectiveness decreases drastically.
