My web design languages
  1. Perl: My starting programming language

I can use perl script to do database manipulation, file handling, html outputing, css outputs, session/cookie handling and more, but I use PHP more often because I am unwilling to pay for a server so I am shifting my scripts everywhere and as cgi language, perl is not good for that reason.

  2. PHP: My second language

I can do everything I can do in Perl but more, It is the scripting language that I am the most comfortable with. I can build object-oriented webpages with PHP.
    Work example:
  3. CSS

I think seeing is believing, I can alter any site I want as long as I am given a small degree of CSS editing possibility. This Digiciation e-polifolio is the best example. I have developed quite a lot of different CSS designs. Here are the ones that I still have:
    Work example:
  4. Javascript (JS) and AJAX

Even though there are a lot of JS libraries such as JQuery, not knowing how to code without them will only make one uses the library very inefficiently. I can code out animations without using JQuery. (example: http://www.sinc.stonybrook.edu/Stu/mlam/temp/sbucofa/). I can also do a lot of other stuff. Even though JS is a prototype based language, I can make it very object-oriented like and code like other languages.

    Work example:
  5. HTML

Any web designer needs HTML, no exception. Without HTML, you can't do any other things.

  6. SQL

I have been teaching assistance for a databaes design class, and I have use SQL regularly. I believe I have a pretty strong knowledge on database design and SQL coding.

  7. Mobile webpage design

Seeing is believing, try to use a mobile browser (or use a pc with mobile agent) on http://www.sinc.stonybrook.edu/clubs/sbucofa/. You will see my ability to make mobile compatible webpages.
