This year's Spring Common's Day was all about majors. What major are you? What major would you like to be? Do you anticipate changing your major? For a lot of us we are just thrown into this whirlwind of confusion shrowded in disarray once we leave the cement laden walls of our prison-like high schools. We come to college with our youthful dreams of being doctors and engineers, and are forced to realize that more often than not they were childish ambitions for a reason. We are constantly growing and changing, and as a function what we desire to do with our lives also changes. The event featured a learned woman who had the same problem that oh so many of us are tasked with facing; what am I doing with this degree?! The woman hadn't the slightest clue what she wanted to do so she did as she desired to as a child. Soon the realization dawned upon her that what she was doing wasn't what she loved, so she picked herself up, hit the books again and set out on a new career path. This event serves as a reminder to all of us that we are not alone in feeling lost, and we are most certainly not alone in being on the fence about our majors.
