I am extremely proud and honored to have been invited as the keynote speaker for the Suffolk Community College's School of Nursing 50th Anniversary Pinning Ceremony.  The ceremony was held on May 15, 2015 at the Michael J. Grant Campus in Brentwood, NY.  I was delighted for the opportunity to help celebrate 50 years of excellence in nursing education.

It was an honor to have been invited as a guest speaker at the Suffolk County Community College 5th Annual Nursing Leadership Conference on October 1, 2013.  The theme of the nursing leadership conference was centered around veteran issues.  As a veteran of Iraqi Freedom myself, I shared with students ways nurses can help post 9/11 veterans with issues reintegrating back into society.  Furthermore, as a graduate of the program in 2011 I was invited to share my path towards becoming an RN with current students.  My goal was to make a connection with students that could relate to the hurdles I faced when I sat in the same seats.

The opportunity to speak at the Suffolk County Community College 5th Annual Nursing Leadership Conference opened doors to networking opportunities and the introduction to school of nursing staff from Stony Brook University, Farmingdale State College, and York College.  These networking opportunities led to my invitation to make my presentation in front of RN to BSN students at York College.
