Summary

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is condensed form of his larger work, Law of Success.  Napoleon spends 20 years of his life studying and interviewing over 500 of America’s most riches people. He was challenged by Andrew Carnegie to find out what make a person successful. Carnegie introduced Napoleon to many successful men such as Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, and FW Woolworth. Think and Grow Rich is 13 principles that Napoleon put together to teach any individual how to become successful, beyond that of money. His central idea was that the source of wealth is non-material. Anyone of any upbringing can become successful

Reflection Questions

Why did you choose this book?

I chose this book because it was the top free downloadable ebook from the Apple apps store. After reading a couple of chapters over the summer, I learned more about myself than I ever did in the last 20 years. Regrettably, I was unable to finish the book due time management and work loads. But thankfully, LDR310 had given me the opportunity to finish it.

What was the most interesting aspect of the book?

I find the most interesting aspect of this book is that anyone could become successful in term or wealth and happiness despite their upbringing, social economical background, ethnicity, religious, etc. They just need to obviously thinking about it. The 13 principles are principles that anyone can follow and if they follow words for words, they will become successful and achieve what they desire.

Would you recommend this book to others? Why or why not?

I strongly recommend this book to everyone.

1)      It helps you grow as a person and as a leader.

2)      It teaches you how to obtain wealth and beyond (friendship, family harmony, spiritual peace, etc.).

3)      It shows you that there is no limitation in what you are capable of.

4)      “Many successful people have praised the work of Napoleon Hill and actually credited him for their success.”

How does or could this book relate to your personal leadership development?

1)      Do not limit yourself.

2)      Nothing is impossible. If you think it you can do it.

3)      What am I willing to give up for my achievement?

4)      Internships, jobs, grades, etc.
