Musicals

  • 9th Grade: Ensemble member in Guys and Dolls, Stage Crew in Middle School production of High School Musical
  • 10th Grade: Ensemble member in All Shook Up, Stage Crew in Middle School production of Beauty and the Beast
  • 11th Grade: Minor Role in the Wizard of Oz, Stage Crew in Middle School production of School House Rock
  • 12th Grade: Lead in 9 to 5, Stage Crew in Middle School production of Annie

Bowling

  • Police Athletic League throughout Middle School
  • Varsity Team in High School

Hebrew School

  • Attended from age six to sixteen
  • Honor Roll every year
  • Awarded a one-year full scholarship to Hebrew High School for winning second place in Youth New York State Jewish Holocaust Literature Contest

Concert Band and Wind Ensemble

  • 9th Grade:  Took Third Place at “Music in the Parks” marching band Competition in Boston, Massachusetts
  • 10th Grade:  Went on a brief tour in Puerto Rico
  • 11th Grade:  Marched in Walt Disney World’s Epcot Laser Light Show
  • 12th Grade:
    • Became a member of high school’s most prestigious band group, Wind Ensemble, and Performed in Carnegie Hall
    • In a small group, won the Modern Music Masters (Tri-M) Recital
    • Performed independently in a small group at the Long Island Composer’s Alliance (LICA) Youth Concert with a self-composed song

Mixed Chorus and Concert Chorale

  • 9th Grade:  Took First Place at “Music in the Parks” Competition in Boston, Massachusetts
  • 10th Grade:  Became a member of High School’s most prestigious choral groups, Concert Chorale and Vocal Jazz, and performed in Carnegie Hall
  • 11th Grade:  Sang a live full concert performance in Walt Disney World, All County Participant
  • 12th Grade:  All-County Participant

Chess

  • Participated in the New York State and National Tournaments twice each
  • 11th Grade:  Placed sixth as a team in the division
  • 12th Grade:  Placed first individually in the division

Theater

  • 10th Grade: Minor Role in one act adaptation of Why the Caged Bird Sings, Minor Role in (500) Days of Summer one-act screenplay
  • 11th Grade: Minor Role in one-act independently written play, Visions

Spirit of Stony Brook Marching Band

  • Section Leader- Duties include mediating directives from staff to the section, tuning the performers, and making minor repairs to instruments
  • Member of selective tournament travel band to Des Moines, Iowa; Burlington, Vermont; and Albany, New York
  • Entertains viewers in a team environment through band music, marching, field routines, and flair
  • Develops senses of spirit and pride around campus
  • Sets atmosphere at home basketball and football games as well as other school events
  • Leads crowd in pep and cheer
  • Called upon to volunteer at various events on campus

High C's

  • Musical Director- Member of group Executive Board, runs rehearsals, auditions, and callbacks; arranges and writes music for group, collaborates to make major decisions regarding performance repertoire
  • Member of Stony Brook's premiere, all-male a Capella group
  • Performs several times per semester to entertain audiences with power ballads
