About Me

                    My name is Samantha Zhang.  My birthday is September 26, 1993.  I am nineteen years old.  I was born and raised in Manhattan, New York and now live in Farmingdale, Long Island.  I am currently a sophomore at Stony Brook University.  I went to Farmingdale High School.  I come from a Chinese background.  I can speak Cantonese, Mandarin and I know Spanish.  I am trying to learn Korean right now.  I have one little sister who is four years younger than me. I plan on double majoring in Asian Studies and Business with a concentration in marketing.  Also, I am minoring in international studies.  My goal is to work in the United Nations as a diplomat or someone who works with foreign countries preferably Asian countries.  I do not want to simply be a translator.  My backup is to work in international business probably in the marketing field but with other countries as well.  The positive qualities that I possess are hard working, organized, compassionate, responsible and friendly.  One of my flaws is that I can be impatient.  My favorite types of color are pastels and pink and purple are my favorite colors.  Some of my hobbies consist of listening to music, watching movies or television, hanging out with friends, and playing volleyball or badminton. 

Opinion About Technology

              I think that technology is extremely important in everyone’s life.  Our society is constantly making advancements in the technological field.  People use technology in their lives everyday and it has even become an addiction to some.  There are many people who are glued to their cell phones all the time and others are addicted to social media websites.  I used to constantly look at my cell phone all the time and go on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram and etc.  It becomes a habit to always look at these things whenever I had time and since I had an iPhone all of these were easily accessible.  I think that technology is a great thing to have because simple things like an iPhone can be so useful in life.  You can easily connect with others whether it is using a call, text or video chatting.  Also you can use map applications to plan out a trip or find directions when you are lost.  In addition to, the remarkable technological innovations in the medical field are outstanding.  There are many equipment developed that can improve surgical procedures for patients.  Technology is definitely a necessity and exists in all different fields and aspects in society.
