ePortfolios strengthen the metacognition process and promotes higher order thinking.  Students are able to review the learning process (making sense), self-assess, select, reflect, connect knowledge (tacit and explicit) and experiences, and move on (transition) to the next learning steps and levels.  The learning is authentic.  Students integrate, analyze, and synthesize what they have learned in an orderly, organized format and the learning process becomes student-centered.  Students develop autonomous learning behaviors and learning becomes an integral part of life…lifelong learning.
