Elaina Anderson tells us, "I have been very fortunate to see quite a few areas of the world in my life so far! In 2004 I traveled to New Zealand and Australia for 3 weeks. I was able to see all of the North and South Island of NZ as well as most of the East Coast of Australia. In the Spring semester of 2010 I studied abroad in Florence, Italy. Cathleen Rowley begins her teaching philosophy, "I consider myself successful as a teacher of writing when I see that students question the material they are reading and question what they have written—when they are not satisfied with initial attempts and strive to go deeper. I believe that the ability to write clearly and to analyze written texts are the most important skills that a student can develop in college, and that they can carry the lessons learned in my class to their other classes and to their lives beyond the classroom.
