2.1-  My father is a software engineer who works for Pepsi. His job is concerned with the order management system of the company. Many bulk customers such as Walmart, restaurant chains, and super stores order many shipments of different Pepsi products. My father's job is to find the most cost efficient manner in which to ship the orders to the stores. He must find out if he should use a certain types of pallets ( which are crates). If the company must ship a lot of drinks then he must find out if he should us a lot of little pallets or just little amount of large pallets.  He also develops the software and systems that manage this data. Software engineers can be associated with development of new software to help certain aspects of the company, such as shipments, manufacturing, and design. They must also be experts in various differents types of operating systems.
2.13- In our everyday day lives, we use so many different forms of technology. We use things such as our smart phones, laptops, iPads, dishwashers, but do we ever think about why and how they were made. If any of us were asked about how some of these appliances and gadgets were made, we would answer by saying that a machine made it with the help of a computer, but we never think about the countless hours of design, development, and problem solving that go into making these everyday tools. One thing I use almost everyday is my Laptop one of the many steps in making a laptop is Design. During this process many design engineers will produce detailed drawing and prototypes of a single part of the laptop. They must also check to see if the part or parts meet any safety regulation and rules.  Then the development and research engineers work together to develop new and innovative ways of creating and using the Laptop. The development engineers will take the information gathered by the researchers and use this to create new prototypes. To test these prototypes, the Testing engineers come in and make sure that all the parts of the machine work together and that there are no problems. Analysis engineers predict and analyse information about the product. They then take this information and relay it to all the other groups of engineers such as the design and  development. One such example of what an analysis engineer does is when they predict the lifetime of the parts of a computer, and what material to use in the manufacturing. Systems Engineers help the design and development engineers to integrate certain programs and systems into the laptops. The last step would be to manufacture these laptops and that is where the Manufacturing Engineers come in. They find the most cost effective and time efficient manner into producing the laptops. The public also needs to know how to use the laptop so a team of engineers must come up with a  manual, but if the manual does not cut it , there must also be a team of engineers on hold so they can help solve any problems people are having with there computers. They also keep track and look after all the manufacturing equipment in the building. If something breaks they must find a way to fix the problem or work there way around it. The most important aspect that goes into creating a specific product, (Ex. Laptop) is teamwork, communication, and problem solving. There are so many steps into creating one single product that not one person can take credit for creating a specific product. It is a team that works together and gets the job done. 
2.40- The world we live in today is filled with problems. We as humans must learn to adapt and learn how to work our way around these problems. Engineers face many problems, and it is there everyday job to find solutions to these problems. Environmental engineers are faced with the problem of protecting the earth we live on while finding ways of increasing industrial production in the safest and greenest way. Many environmental engineers are concerned with three things; Disposal, remidiation, and prevention. They are concerned with were to dispose of both industrial and residential waste. If a oil spill occurs environmental engineers need to find the most efficient way to clean up the mess . Last they also need to come up with innovative ideas on how to prevent things, such as pollution, global warming and waste removal. Today natural gas and petroleum have become very important parts of our lives, but the effects of gasoline and petroleum have left a whole in our atmosphere and in our wallets. The earth also only has a limited amount of gasoline and petroleum. As petroleum engineers, they must find ways of transporting this oil, and must find the safest way to Petroleum Engineers must work with geologists to find new oil deposits. They must also find the safest and most cost effective way to remove the oil from the ground,
