My name is Valliappan Lakshmanan. I was born in a small town in India and moved to America when I was five years old. I also lived in Lodon for a little bit too when I was three years old. I went to High School in Fishkill, New York in the Hudson Valley. I am currently studying Engineering Science at Stony Brook University. The reason I chose engineering was because it would give me the problem solving skills I needed to tackle our worlds biggest problems such as Poverty. I want to use my knowldge of technology and engineering to help those around me. I am an Resident Assistant in Langmuir College. I am also a Undergraduate Student Government senator for the college of engineering and applied sciences as well. One thing I love to do in my free time is take pictures, make videos, and dance. I have taken photos for Human of stony brook and have done many other photo projects. I am part of the Univerity Bhangra team. Bhangra is a traditional punjabi folk dance that originates from the Indian state of Punjab. We preform at local campus events and at some local competitions.
