College Fellows
Throughout College there is many opportunites afforded to students to get hands on experience, and different ways to develop themselves. One of the best ways in which I was fortunate enough to be selected for was, the Leadership and Service College Fellows program. Through this program a student is given the opportunity to take LDS 275 during their second semester as a freshman. Then during their sophmore year they are a teachers assistant for the LDS 101 course. This program teaches students how to be a mentor and role model for the incoming freshman class and how to assist them in their transition from highschool to college.
Throughout this process I not only recieved extensive training on how to be mentor and a role model for students, but I also met some really great people. Some of these people are really good friends of mine and some are even faculty members that I now can network with and look to for help in my academic endeavors.
