Additional Info About Grades and Feedback (Survival and Sanity Tips)

  • A grade of C means the assignment has been fulfilled to satisfaction. B is better than average, and A is outstanding.  Grades take into consideration handling of content, style, fulfillment of genre expectations (which includes, but is not limited to, issues of mechanical correctness, proper formatting, and standard grammar), and fulfillment of the goals given in the assignment.

  • Drafts of papers are not letter-graded.  These are marked complete or incomplete in the Gradebook.

  • Each major essay may be revised once for a higher grade. (This does not apply to essays that were not turned in for drafts.) All revisions must be done before the exit portfolio is submitted. Revisions turned in with the portfolios will be graded after the portfolio reading.
